On September 12, Jameela Bheevi BEd College came alive with the vibrant spirit of Onam, Kerala’s most cherished festival. The celebration was a beautiful blend of tradition, joy, and togetherness, bringing students, faculty, and staff together to honor our rich cultural heritage.

The day began with the creation of a stunning pookkalam (floral rangoli), showcasing the creativity and teamwork of students. Traditional games like vadam vali (tug-of-war) and other fun activities filled the campus with excitement and laughter. Everyone dressed in traditional Kerala attire, adding a festive charm to the event.

One of the highlights was the Onasadya (traditional feast), a sumptuous meal served on banana leaves, bringing everyone together in a spirit of sharing and gratitude. Cultural performances, including thiruvathira dance and folk songs, captivated the audience and highlighted the beauty of Kerala’s traditions.

The Onam celebration at Jameela Bheevi BEd College was more than just an event; it was a reminder of the values of unity, prosperity, and happiness. As a student, being part of such a vibrant festival strengthened my bond with the college community and deepened my appreciation for our culture. It was truly a day to remember!
